Alicia Slaton earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the University of Southern Indiana. Her professional background includes valuable experience at Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare and Youth First, where she served as a school social worker. Through these roles, she developed a strong foundation in supporting the emotional and behavioral needs of youth within educational and community settings.
In her current practice, she works with children, teens, and adults facing a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, and family or peer conflicts. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Strengths Perspective. She also incorporates creative and expressive methods such as play therapy, art therapy, sand tray therapy, and mindfulness to meet each client where they are and help them build resilience and emotional well-being.
Alicia was born and raised in Southern Indiana and is grateful to continue serving the community she calls home. In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband and her twin daughters. As a family, they love spending time outdoors on their property and family farm, caring for their chickens and making memories in nature. Alicia and her husband also enjoy traveling together, exploring new places, and returning home with fresh perspectives.
