Maddie Wiethop is a licensed clinical social worker who graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Master’s in Social Work. Before joining the aha NOW! team, she worked as a school social worker with Youth First, Inc., a non-profit agency based in Indiana that is dedicated to strengthening children and families. Before working with Youth First, Maddie worked in an outpatient therapeutic setting at Luzio and Associates Behavioral Services.

While working at Luzio and Associates, Maddie worked with a wide range of clients of varying ages who were seeking assistance for different issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, peer and family conflict, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma. She has a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma, and has direct experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence at varying stages of their journeys.

Maddie has attended different trainings about trauma and PTSD, anxiety disorders, and crisis interventions. She typically uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when working with clients, but understands that every person is different and will implement other therapeutic modalities to ensure each of her clients receive what best suits them.

When Maddie is not meeting with clients, she tends to spend time at home with her husband, two kids, and their dog. She enjoys going on walks with family and friends, trying new foods, watching funny shows, and reading.
